Getting Started
Dryvr helps professional HGV and PSV drivers track their driving hours and stay compliant with UK and EU regulations. The app supports:
-
Assimilated AETR rules (EU 561/2006 as retained in UK law)
-
GB Domestic Drivers' Hours Rules
-
Working Time Directive (Road Transport) Regulations 2005
When you first open Dryvr, you'll be guided through a quick setup to choose your vehicle type, default rule set, night work period, and activity detection mode. You can change any of these at any time in Settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start a shift?
Tap the Start Shift button on the Today screen. You can optionally enter your vehicle and trailer registration, choose a rule set, and set your start location before beginning.
How does automatic activity detection work?
When enabled, Dryvr uses GPS speed data to automatically switch between Driving and Other Work.
When your speed exceeds the threshold, the app records driving time. When stationary or moving slowly, it records other work. You can manually override at any time, and you can switch to fully manual mode in Settings.
What activity modes are tracked?
Dryvr tracks four activity types: Driving, Other Work, Period of Availability (POA), and Rest/Break. All four are displayed in the live shift summary on the Today screen.
What compliance rules does the app check?
Depending on your selected rule set, Dryvr monitors:
-
Maximum daily driving time (9h, extendable to 10h twice per week)
-
Maximum weekly driving time (56h)
-
Maximum fortnightly driving time (90h)
-
Mandatory break requirements (45 min after 4.5h driving)
-
Daily and weekly rest requirements
-
Working Time Directive limits (48h average, 60h max weekly)
-
Night work limits (10h in any 24h period)
